Italian Meatloaf Ingredients
- 1/2 lb Ground beef
- 1/2 lb Ground turkey
- 1/2 lb Italian spicy turkey sausages, casings removed
- 1/2 large Onion, diced
- 4 cloves Garlic, finely diced
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
- 1 8 oz Tomato sauce- save part of the can for topping meatloaf. (can use ketchup instead)
- Tomato paste
- Add any combination of seasonings you like: salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper, oregano, Italian seasoning, basil, rosemary, thyme. You could also just add a packet of McCormick spaghetti seasoning.
Topping for Meatloaf
- 1/4 cup Parmesean cheese
- 1/4 cup Mozzarella cheese
- Parsley and oregano
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl add all Meatloaf ingredients and mix with hands. Do not over-mix or the Meatloaf will be tough.
Place in metal or glass meatloaf pan, drizzle a little tomato paste over top (I always keep a tube of tomato paste in the frig. You can use just what you need and not have to open a can), and cook for 50 minutes.
Remove from oven and add Meatloaf Toppings. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and cook another 10 minutes. Let cook for 5-10 minutes.
