We started painting the outdated trim in our home a few years ago and reached a stopping point until we finally had time just recently to continue.

It can be an overwhelming and time consuming project if not done in phases.  I can’t imagine painting all the trim in our house from beginning to end without taking a break from it. Continue reading “Revitalize Any Room with These Easy Steps”

This recipe was inspired by a restaurant we frequented a lot when we lived in Honolulu, HI.

Buca di Beppo was one of our favorite spots, plus we could walk to it from our condo.  We loved the atmosphere but especially the food – AWESOME!  We ate at the bar a lot or in the al fresco area that overlooked Ward Center. Continue reading “Pasta with Spicy Chicken and Vegetables”

Revised By Paul Yakes from the article written by Paul Yakes and Deborah Turner and published in the McKenzie Banner on February 12, 2003

Ours was a chance meeting if there ever was one – the kind someone reads about in love stories or sees in romantic movies.

It was a meeting that probably shouldn’t have happened, but it did.  It was something far better than chance – we really believe it was our destiny; our fate or luck or whatever that we met.  Whatever you choose to call it, one thing is for sure – our chance meeting was perhaps the best day of our lives.  We thought it then almost twenty one years ago and we still think so. Drum roll….FINISHED!

Wow, this was a lengthy project and one of my biggest yet.

I started this granny flower project in April of 2019.  And almost a year later I’m excited to say it’s finished.

Granted I didn’t work on it full time.  There were a couple of months I didn’t work on it at all.  But it’s basically been laying on the sofa throughout this time reminding me that it wasn’t completed. Continue reading “Granny Flower Square Crochet Blanket”

Nashville – February 2020

We go to Nashville at least a couple of times a year.  We just love the energy, the vibe, the excitement of the city.

There are always large groups of people having fun visiting the many honky tonks, restaurants and shopping spots on Broadway and Second Avenue.  It’s amazing to see people pedaling the pedal bars and riding in the open top buses even when the temperature is in the thirties and forties.

We’ve been going there for the past fifteen years or so and every time we return, we are amazed with the explosion taking place in that city.  There are buildings going up everywhere and the city is sprawling in every direction. Continue reading “Nashville – February 2020”

Chocolate Glazed Chocolate Tart

Chocolate Tart with Chocolate Glaze and Chambord Raspberries

You can’t go wrong with CHOCOLATE and RASPBERRIES

…especially when the raspberries are soaked in Chambord Liqueur!
Drunken Raspberries!

Recently my sister shared this recipe with me.  She prepared this dessert for their Valentine’s Day celebration.  Albeit it was a few days after Valentine’s Day – but better late than never.  Her new puppy had spay surgery on Valentine’s, plus she had worked that day and the dessert just didn’t happen.
