February 2, 2020 or 02/02/2020.  And that date backwards is:  02/02/2020.

A lot of twos.  Groundhog Day, Super Bowl Sunday and, much, much more.

So, I’ve examined the number two and its impact on our lives on this the second day of February, 2020.  We’ll start with Ground Hog day.  This year Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow so that would indicate an early spring.  Here in southern Illinois that would seem the case.  It’s in the mid to high sixties today – a great day for a wedding.

One would first think, “A wedding on Sunday, who does that?  And on Super Bowl Sunday to boot – just ridiculous!”  But yes, indeed there was a wedding here today.

Our friends, who will remain unnamed, thought it cute and clever to have their wedding on 02/02/2020 and to make it even cuter, why not at 2:20 in the afternoon with 222 invited guests?

That way it shouldn’t interfere with the Super Bowl, which by the way is the second Super Bowl victory for the number 2 seed, Kansas City Chiefs on this second day of February, 2020 or 02/02/2020.  Their last visit to the big game was in Super Bowl 4 when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings.  So why is this significant?

Well, not only is it the Chiefs second Super Bowl victory, but it is also their head coach, Andy Reid’s 222 victory in his 21 year NFL career.  And the second season in the NFL for their prodigy quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.  A lot of twos, for sure.

I’m sure there are a lot of other ways the number 2 has shown up today.  Maybe being number two is not so bad after all, unless, of course, you’re the San Francisco 49ers.
